Preliminary task

This task requires us to film a short continuity video that shows someone opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in a chair opposite another character; which then exchange a few lines of dialogue.

During this task we will be using and considering match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180-degree rule.
  • Match on action just mean an editing techniques used to make the video flow e.g. if you're filming the video on two separate days, the actor would have to have the same clothes and hair style.
  • Shot/reverse shot refers to the camera angles used to film a conversation. The view usually captures one character while they are talking and changes to other when they're showing an expression or they're giving their input in the conversation.
  • The 180-degree rule just means that the character should always have the same left/right relationship (-basically there's a line down the middle that shouldn't be crossed).
For this task I'm working with Hyleana Anthony and Courtney Lynch. My role in this task is to film and be involved with the editing. Courtney is going to be our main star and leading lady (also apart in the editing) and Hyleana is the second character and my assistant editor.
